Five!

Day five of my Juice Feast is winding down. Things have been stressful today..not necessarily juice feast related, but I feel that I handled them much better than I would have before. I just feel really really calm, all the time now. Its great!

I tried my first savory juice recipe today...and it was decent. I noticed last night that my thyroid was swollen, and I think its due to an iodine deficiency (I hardly ever eat sea vegetables...but was actually craving seaweed salad a few days ago!) So, I grabbed some organic kelp/dulse/sea lettuce flakes from Whole Foods to sprinkle in my juice.

The serving size was one teaspoon, but I totally overdid it, thinking "well, if it is an iodine deficiency..." Haha. So now my juice is full of floaty nasty sea veggie granules. Like, too many. I wasn't sure if I was supposed to blend them in with the juice, or just throw them in afterward. At this point I'm more concerned with getting some iodine than the purity of an omgcompletelyfiberfree juice feast. :) 1 tablespoon of kelp isn't going to break me.

So, the savory juice turned out all right. Not great, not terrible...nice and spicy..but not something I see myself making again in the near future. At least not with so much damn kelp. :)
