Hm....Day 21 of my juice feast. Today really feels like the end...I am unsure of whether I am going to continue. On one hand, my skin is great, I've lost lots of weight (with a lot more to go...), I'm feeling really good, I love not being hungry, and I'm enjoying the feast overall. On the other hand, I'm sick of carrying around mason jars and waking up at 6:00 AM (I could throw my VitaMix out the window). I want to eat something solid. I miss putting time and creative energy into the dishes I create.
I'd like to look into a modified juice feast...the past 3 weeks have made me re-think greens entirely. I want to consume at least a quart of fresh green juice every day...the benefits are incredible.
As of right now I feel really, really unbalanced. My energy levels have been low at times, and I feel like I'm taking in way too much sugar...I'm not sure that 100% juicing is the best thing for me. At the same time, I feel like if I started eating solid food tomorrow, I'd probably be eating cooked food again. I still crave it. Would that be so bad? I'm trying to avoid the raw/cooked dichotomy that has caused me quite a bit of misery over the past year and a half...if I could just get over it, I'd be able to eat brown rice and unprocessed, vegan cooked foods every now and then. Would I feel my best? I don't know. Would it be the best thing possible for me? I have no idea!
Am I afraid of being successful? Of course. The thought of being 100% happy with myself and my body is a fairly daunting thought. If I actually finished the 92 days...where would I be?
The Juices:
-- 1 qt water w/lemon
-- 1 qt chard/pineapple/cucumber (2 bunches rainbow chard, 6 cups chopped pineapple, 1 cucumber)
-- 20 oz orange juice
-- 2 quarts orange juice
-- black tea with honey
-- 1 qt kale/apple/cuke (1 bunch kale, 4 apples, 1 cucumber)
-- 1 tablespoon hemp oil

It has been so lovely following your progress and I just wanted you to have some else say: follow your heart. And What would happen if you made it to day 92? Or day 30? My only recommendation, and that is to not mix your fruits (besides apples or lemons) with your veg. The pineapple-chard seems heavy on the fruit and may be where your low energy is coming from... too much sugar? Keep the beautiful journey, whether or not you decide to continue the juice feast! Thanks for your comment and the advice about the fruit/veg combining...I'll have to try that. I was hoping that by adding some greens to my pineapple juice it would help "balance" out the sugar..I did end up feeling pretty weird after I drank it though.
I'm going to stick to plain green juices with apples for a few days, since when I drink those I am feeling my best. :)
