Day 17: Mega-Crap Detox, Part III

Ugh. Today has been an awful day physically and emotionally. I'm sick, feverish, exhausted, and can barely speak. This isn't a good match for a room full of middle school students...So I was feeling better last night, but then felt really off again this morning. I think I really needed more sleep than I got yesterday (even though, taking the nap into consideration, was a decent amount).

I'm really, REALLY feeling the, "I hate the world" emotional detox. For sure. I'm so sick of bubbly happy people that I want to scream. The last thing that I want crossing my path after a frustrating, rage-inducing, can't-be-placated-with-solid-food day of working with what might be the most ill-managed group of children on the planet is someone's perky, smiley, world outlook. Come to Bushwick, asshole! Try being optimistic for five minutes after you take a look at the future of America!

Forcing politeness while I'm in line at Whole Foods for what was probably my first live juice of the day, and making small talk with the freaking bank teller are NOT my cup of tea.

Today's Juice:
-- 2 qts orange juice of questionable origin
-- 1 qt freshly squeezed OJ
-- 16 oz cucumber/apple/ginger
-- 1 qt water w/MSM & lemon

This morning I wound up over sleeping until 8:00 AM (ha! school starts at 8:02), so I had NO time to make my juices. I ran to school and drank orange juice from the corner coffee shop which I highly, highly doubt was raw. On my way into Manhattan I grabbed another quart of OJ, and then afterwards had an apple/cucumber/ginger concoction from a really cool juice spot in Harlem. So, I didn't even come close to hitting my greens/celery quota today, but this was due to entirely crazy circumstances. It was also nice not to have to make any of my own juices today, even though it set me back $20. :)

I'm going to bed early tonight...this detox business is serious.
