Juices!
-- chamomile tea w/ honey
-- 2 qts celery/pineapple/cucumber (1 cucumber, 1 head celery, 1 pineapple)
-- 1 qt apple/cucumber/spinach (5 apples, 1 cucumber, 1 handful spinach)
-- 1 qt apple/blueberry/spinach/ginger (2 inch cubes ginger, remainder of 9 oz bag spinach, 4 apples, 1 cup blueberries)
-- 1 qt apple/blueberry/cucumber (2 gala apples, 2 kirby cucumbers, 2 cups blueberries)

This morning...I meant to put an entire 9 ounce bag of spinach into my green juice. It didn't all fit at first, so I threw in a handful with the intention of smooshing the apples & cucumber in, then adding the rest of the spinach. I totally forgot until I took a sip of the juice and realized it didn't really even taste like a green juice. At that point it was way too late to start the rest of the spinach/strain/deal with additional cleanup. Annoying, but I'm over it. I just kept thinking about my Omega Juicer. :)
So, today I'm sitting in the teacher's lounge and my co-workers were talking about teeth whitening...I'm just sitting there listening, not saying much. One of them is like, "Haha, Alison there's probably a juice for that, right?" and I (half-jokingly) say, "Yep, there's a juice for everything!" Then one of them was like, "MERH, there isn't a juice for everything." I just looked at her.
It never fails to astound me when people absolutely can't even acknowledge the connection between diet and health! Its so frustrating, especially when these same people (and their poor children) are drugged out, miserable, broke, and in pain because they're still subscribing to the SAD & Big Pharma mentalities!
At the same time, I'm so blissed out on green juice that I can't really get too mad about it. Good times.

I just stopped at my local grocery store because I don't have time/money for "real" groceries (aka organic food, haha) until tomorrow...so I dropped a total of $6 on a 3lb bag of gala apples, 1.5 pounds of (unwaxed) kirby cucumbers, and 3 pounds of kale. If you don't consider the carcinogenic, planet destroying chemicals they've been doused in, its not a bad deal! *grins* I made my last juice of the night, apple/cuke/blueberry with conventional (though unwaxed) apples and cucumbers, and organic blueberries I had stashed in the freezer. I was fairly surprised that I could tell a SERIOUS difference! Interesting.
Oh, and I'm ditching the tea with honey habit I've fallen into the past week. I'm drinking WAY too much of it, and as a result am consuming entirely too much freaking honey. Its sending me on a blood sugar roller coaster! Also, I'm anxiously welcoming back my AM water w/lemon & MSM.
T-minus 2 days until I get my Omeeeeeega! Wooo!

Hi, I came here via Kristen's blog and read all your entries. Well done on your juice feast so far. I'm not raw yet, but I'm implementing a high raw (80%+) lifestyle at present. I have attempted a juice feast of my own a few months ago, but couldn't get off the ground. Reading your story here has motivated me to try again. I really want to do this. I have, however, only just started an exercise program too (30 mins cardio and 1 hour strength - either Pilates or Aqua - per day) and think that I should just settle nicely into that before starting a juice feast.
I weigh 345 pounds and am implementing a natural, mostly raw, lifestyle in order to get my body back to its natural weight, get really healthy and fit and balance my hormones so that we can have children. This is also the way I want to raise my children.
Thank you for being an inspiration by sharing the ups and downs of your juice feast with us! And good luck for the rest of your journey. I'll be reading!
Oh, and then I end up not saying what I really wanted to say, regarding your post. I have learnt that there will always be people who will look for answers outside themselves - drugs, doctors, dieticians, treatments, etc. That way they don't have to take responsibility for their own health. They perceive you as a threat, because you are a pin that's coming too close to their balloon.
I don't even listen to these people complain anymore!
KQ,
It is hard to see the people around you suffering the sometimes bitter fruits of the choices they make, but we all do make our own choices. When you are feeling good, it's generally easy to be increasingly more selective about the seeds that you sow in your life.
Just keep on choosing your fruits - when people are inclined in that direction, they will come to you and ask. I find that when people are hungry for change, they are ravenous, that energy fuels itself. All we can do is keep showing up, using our own lives as the teaching too.
On the train yesterday, a woman was ranting up and down the train car with religious fervor about vegetarianism, forcing flyers on people, shouting about animal cruelty, cancer, diabetes, etc. Though I agreed with much of the content of her words, the delivery was something else altogether. Alienating and counter-productive to say the least, judging from the physical reactions people had to her message.
The subtlety of sipping juice with calm countenance is more effective in the long run, imho.
Til then, stay juicy!
I'm with you on the tea with honey habit. Today I began my love affair with dandelion tea which I am really digging...It's actually is tasting sweet to me and feels good in the body.
Now honey with coconut oil hearts on the other hand...
xx Raw B
